  1. Data Entry:

On Friday, January 4, 2002, jeanne sent the following message to the Dear Habermas listserv:

    Hi, Guys.

I'm still missing some e-mail addresses, mainly because I didn't record them effectively. Still looking for addresses for:

    • Dunbar Bradley
    • Michael Briggs
    • Angel Holliday
    • Bobbi Martin
    • Beverly Myers
    • Agnes Simpkins
    • Tyron Turner
    • Keyana Woolen

Please alert any of them that you know or see to send me an e-mail so I can include them on this list. Next week I'll create a listserv so that messages can go to all of you at once, without typing out all the addresses.

I've included Susan on the listserv, since she'll be with us at the ACJS meetings in March when we do our first performance.

Today I'll start posting announcements and readings for Moot Court. No, you don't have to do them right now, but I thought some of you might like to work ahead. There's lots to do for Spring, and I'm likely to take off for China or points unknown. Remember, I'm retired now.

I've put up an essay on what Moot Court is and how we play it at http://www.habermas.org/mootcrt04.htm. Well, more accurately, I'll put it up in an hour or so. For now, I'm here and online. Stay in touch. I am planning to come in for a workshop with some of you, whoever can make it, during the winter session. Let me know if there are days or times especially good for you.

Susan and I will be working on an ASA paper on Monday, January 7. We'll be online for that.

More soon . . . Happy New Year! jeanne

  2. Interpretation:

First message in Winter 2002 to Moot Court 2002 workgroup. Listserv to be created based on the Winter Break activity. Missing e-mail addresses are the result of needing to update the site procedures for recording data. I expect to preserve each of these messagesas qualitative data for later analysis of patterns Susan and I do not yet see developing.

Because I'm inventing the recording system and the filing system as I go, I have managed to misfile some of the addresses. This message is the first attempt to fill in those gaps so we can beging coordinated group activity over the Internet.
