New York Times, Weekend Arts, May 13, 2005. Psychedelic effect from Corel Photo House program under color effects. Blur effect on the dinosaur of tyranos07.jpg. The blur softens the background so that the dinosaur stands out better. This is the image I swirled.
Each of the links below will take you to one of the versions of the above photograph with which I played. jeanne

Image modified by using paint can and brush in a paint program. But coloring it looks too rough and doesn't capture what I was feeling. jeanneWe're all fascinated by dinosaurs, especially Tryranosaurus Rex. I put up this one from the fornt page of the Weekend Arts section in the hope that someone would have as much fun with it as I did. The photograph is fine, but it doesn't have the punch of the actual print. The one in print is really scary.

Image modified by using effects in a Corel Photo House program. Now this one is getting close to the scary look I remember from when I first opened the paper. Notice that sometimes photographs don't give you the same feeling as the real thing. That's where art comes in handy. These days, with photo programs available on computers, even with an old program like this one that came with my computer, I can alter the original image until it begins to give me the same feeling I was trying to capture. jeanne
