Memory Sculpture

  • Introduction

Why sculpture? Because scrapbooks are rarely out for sharing. Sculpture, especially if it's ever changing, can be. This one started out as a centerpiece where the family, together, or as they come along, can share through the centerpiece.

  • Discussion Questions

    1. What does the sculpture offer that the scrapbook doesn't?

The making and keeping of scrapbooks tend to fall to the female household members. That produces a certain imbalance in the memories recorded. Also, the scrapbook is destined for long term preservation. A family memory sculpture can share with those not present all at the same time, and can change easily and readily, and the scrapbook making group can rescue bits of the sculpture for long term saving.
