Presenting Evidence to Support OpinionsOn Saturday, October 30, the following message appeared on transform_dom:Message 420:
Subject: Re: New poll for transform_dom on justification of war in IraqI think that the war on Iraq it was just about oil. Mr. Cheaney wanted more money and get more richier than he is. Sadam was an evil man don't get me wrong, but he wasn't envolved in the 9/11 attacks. Mr. president wanted a excuse to get that oil. Therefore, he convinced the American people that the war was the only answer. He was wrong and will always be wrong about going after the wrong man. Bin Laden is the one we need to go after.
You've stated your position very clearly; but you've done it more as rhetoric than as illocutionary discourse (letting us understand one another and how we think abouat these social evenets) and without any citation of evidence to help us understand your position.
Thursday and after, next week, I'd like us to discuss how we could introduce illocutionary understanding and some evidence to support your position.
