January 12 Update:

Data has been collected. Preliminary report is being prepared. There will be opportunities to help with the report preparation and to revise the study plan for a more effective and extensive collection of data for the CSUDH campus. UWP students may have access to the data for analysis by contacting the project directors, Carla (CarlyAt36@aol.com)and Brenda (brownchap@aol.com).

The retention study which was planned for the statistics plan is presently in progress. Carla and Brenda are organizing it. We are contacting the Dean for current data and will try to begin the phone callls next week, that is, the week of November 9. If you wish to take part in data collection, analysis or report writing, e-mail Carla at CarlyAt36@aol.com or Brenda at brownchap@aol.com.

Carla met on Tuesday, November 3, with Dr. Ken Gash, of Institutional Research, to ask for an updated sample for the Task Force Retention Study. That sample was to be ready by late Wednesday. Since we expect to begin work on the interviews immediately please be sure that you contact Carla or Brenda this week.

This is confirmation that work on the retention study will count for individual project work in Statistics class. jeanne
