Aesthetic Transformation of Everday Life through Science Fiction

Teaching Essay Copyright: Jeanne Curran and Susan R. Takata and Individaul Authors, July 2002.
"Fair use" encouraged.

Science fiction fascinates. Need I mention more than Star Wars and Star Trek? This is an area in which free reign to the imaginary creates entertainment in the public sphere that captures us with a message powerful enough to make us think, to make us wonder. And in that powerfully stated and or performed plea for a subject that can and does imagine a different world, we stretch the corners of our own boundaries, and begin to be able to imagine a different world.
