Town Hall Agenda

Student Union B, Wednesday, May 17, 2000, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
with Adjunct Public Art Project

This Town Hall Meeting seeks to share with the CSUDH campus our academic discourse from the Western Social Science Meetings in San Diego in April 2000. CSUDH students: Jaime Shepherd, Jerry Gilmore, Michael Planck, Emmanuel Obi, Patricia Alexander, Tina Juen, Cliff Parks, Shenell Weaver, Qiana Bush, Marlene Boykin, Mark Yesia will moderate this meeting, based on their experiences at this conference.

The focus of our presentations was on non-violent responses to structural violence. Because we agreed in San Diego that we are committed to finding non-violent solutions to the problems of bureaucratization and corporate greed, we planned this Town Hall Meeting so that we can begin to include all CSUDH students in our project.

The various topics we hope to cover this Wednesday are Non-Violent Responses to:

The students who participated in the Western Social Science Meetings will provide brief summaries of the theoretical positions which inform these issues and will demonstrate the linkage of all to our need for non-violent, peacemaking discourse.
